Several Universal Truths

I read this wildly successful blog which is packed full of life lessons.  Usually the posts have a number in the title, like "Five Ways to Embrace the Present," or "12 Dozen Ways to Ruin Your Own Life, and One Way to Win."
I'm sure you know the kind.
So I thought, I am SURE I can pass on some UNIVERSAL truths and fundamental values.
And then, I thought, uh, no, I can't.

But let me try:
  1. Just because your mother likes it doesn't mean it's art.
  2. The only thing you don't have to tolerate is intolerance.
  3. Oh!  Here's one!  Just because your husband hates it doesn't mean it ISN'T art.
  4. Ha!
  5. If someone asks you if they can help you, they mean it.  Let them.
  6. Sometimes other people are actually right, and you are wrong.  Sorry.
  7. Oh.  And how about: you don't have to be good at everything.
  8. It does not do to leave a live dragon out of your calculations, if you happen to live near him.
  9. That last shamelessly lifted from Tolkien, but it resonated with me the first time I read it, at about age 12, so I say go with it.
Anything you can work with here?
