Sure. Sign Me Up.

Last year at about this time, I vowed to create so much positive community energy at my school that the poisonous PTO people would not only become irrelevant but pitiful.

I believe I have donated a great deal of energy to that endeavor. I am part of a greater effort, which truly has been transforming, although I haven't heard anyone refer to the poisonous previous PTO people as pitiful.

I am one of the new PTO vice-presidents. I ran the raffle at the school carnival, hung out at the inaugural craft fair, bought chocolate roses, painted an enormous backdrop for the fall festival, attended two parenting discussion groups, helped a team-mate who successfully wrote a $25,000 technology grant, and promoted an after school art club. I have hosted 4 family science nights, with one more to come.

On Thursday, most of the staff members volunteered to work at McD's, for a clever fundraiser called "McTeacher's Night" and I stood on Colfax at 225 dancing with a sign for an hour.

That may be my limit, though.

Another fundraiser on Colfax was considered more profitable but illegal. Hence the McDonalds idea.

I'm tired just reading about it all! Love the alliteration.

Hope this is all paying off for you and your school and that they appreciate all you are doing!
