News From Fantasy Island

The Dandy Girl tends toward the chunky. I believe her pediatrician refers to it as "clinically obese." So, one of her jobs is walking "Arfy" with Daddy. (note: before she had any understandable English, Rose was definitely talking. Her word for "dog" was "aeeee?" and her word for "cat" was "eiiiii***?" (ultra-sonic high pitch). As her articulation evolved, "dog" became "oof", then "ooofy" then "arfy." Our dog's name, by the way, is Rex. However, all and sundry now call him Arfy.)

ANYhoo, when I got home yesterday, she pointed at the empty space standing next to me and the pointed at a long string hanging next to Arfy's leash. Seems we have a new dog here at the Dandy house.

However, "He bad." "He mean." Oh? "He mean to titty." (??? come ON. You know that she can't say /k/ sounds!!!) Oh. I'm so sorry, is the kitty ok now? "No, she dead."

Thanks for the laugh!! Hannah used to omit all beginning consonants; hence, everything that rhymed with "glass" was pronounced...you get it. :)
