And In Other news

My husband's oldest friend (friend of longest duration) joins us every Christmas morning. As an atheist, LDS drop-out, Christmas is something of a sociological study for him. I don't think it would particularly bother him to be alone on the big morning, but he is a welcome guest in our home any time (not for 4 months, though. Happened once.) and he plays along with the stockings, Barbies, cheeseballs etc.
This year, he had Peter come and pick him up. He doesn't have a car. That's not the reason he needed a ride, though. He is very adept at public transportation. He needed a ride because a week ago, his vacuum wasn't working, so he kicked it until he BROKE HIS FOOT. (anger much? rug rage?)
Hard to say, though, which is more inconvenient for him, that or that SWAT TEAM SWARMING HIS APARTMENT when he used his bb gun on the pigeons above his patio.
I love this guy. But I promise you, in the 20 years that I have known him, I have never, ever tried to fix him up with anyone. Just sayin'.

And that's what Christmas is all about. Not only do you open your home to this person, but you don't fix him up with anyone. Now that's thoughfulness.

Or thoughtfulness, if you spell it right. Doink.
