Antisocial Skills

Peter and Andy are in Wyoming looking at/for fossils, so it's just us girls around here. We "camped" too- sleeping bags in the living room- and have watched a few movies. I have struggled a little to rouse myself while the boys are gone, and feel just slightly wretched. Peter is pretty good about sensing the blahs and encouraging me; this time he could hear it over the phone and said, "Get out and have some fun- otherwise you'll just drag yourself over to the couch." Sadly true, people. So... I took my antisocial self and my frightening Dandy Walker child out and about.

I do believe that the Dandy has benefited from the Social Skills classes! She is hearing "no" and accepting it better. She is stopping when she is asked to stop. We went to the museum today, and she did well! (A lot of "progress" with her behavior comes from my revised expectations. I don't go to museums with personal expectations, for example. No Titanic exhibit for me today- it was dinosaurs and "aminals".)

In other news, we did get a gazebo thing for the patio. It was not, D, $15. Peter came home with it, and I didn't ask, but it's got iron uprights with SHELVES and mosquito netting. In fact, Rose and I "camped" out there the first night we got it, and not a bug in sight!

I went to a meal assembly place and MAN, is that slick! Everything washed, chopped and laid out in front of you, with the correct measuring utensil next to each ingredient, and a sweet gal washing your dishes when you're finished. I signed up for August before I left.

Next time call me to come watch movies and go on an outing with you. I'd enjoy getting to know the Dandy girl better!

WOW! Look at all I've missed while I've been away. Lost kid, lost dog, rollercoaster teen, missed classes, reading club with too much food (I'll read that book), bus rides, Monart (looks awesome!), next great novel, more art supplies, and onions (what's up with that?). The ice cream/tar connection makes sense. It now explains why you'd drive miles for DQ. As for being careful what you wish for, I have gone back to blogging.
