The Tax Man

My dear husband has refinanced our mortgage and completed our taxes. All of this while I was basically horizontal with a respiratory infection. All of this with good cheer and determination.

Not like this.

I have this increasing problem with any kind of money-management. For the last year, the best I could do was put all of our bills on automatic payment- including the ones that vary by month. I can hardly stand to open envelopes, never have any stamps, and I had to look up USPS online to find out how much a first-class stamp actually costs. I get panicky and curt when anything like investing, insurance, bank balances, debt and bills comes up. Filling out forms makes my eyes glaze over. He has never liked any of that stuff either, but I guess he has some kind of fundamental chromosomal provider instinct that kicks in every so often and he just shoulders the burdens.

We closed on the mortgage on Monday night. He even arranged for the notary TO COME TO OUR HOUSE in the EVENING.

What a great guy.
