Tree Wrangling

We got three estimates on taking down this tree.
All of the companies said it was the biggest box elder they'd ever seen.
Two companies said take it down immediately.  One said it had a couple more years.
We are glad we decided to take it down.  Box elder is heavy hardwood, and our neighbors' homes are very close.

Here's what it looked like by 4 PM.

And here they are cutting the final wedge to drop the main trunk.

Here's the diameter.

Rose got to see a brand new baby robin.

They saved that portion of the tree and built a temporary tree with the ladder.  We could hear the mother robin later in the evening and are hopeful the two were reunited.

The crew was just a great bunch of guys.
