Major Gaffe?

Greeted this morning with coverage of...
the "major gaffe" in the opening ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

I'm sorry, THAT'S the headline? The opening ceremonies were exquisite and gave me chills. If the media wanted to deviate from the obviously dominant Olympic headlines of the day- the death of the Georgian luge athlete- maybe the beauty of the night and the international Olympic spirit could have balanced the somber tone?

Or, if you MUST be negative, how about taking up the protesters?

and, I guess, how could the technical glitch be called a "major gaffe" in the face of the slush, grief and protests?
