- School is so great- I love my job. Love the new teammate, love the students (new and old) and feel very proud of recently completed projects which challenged me at the very edge of my potential.
- I watched "Mama Mia" three times last weekend. I had never seen it before, and probably wouldn't have watched it, but a colleague brought it to work specifically to share it with me, and I had it for a couple of weeks before I turned it on. It's a gas.
- Met up with a couple of middle school buddies this past week- hi lurker- and found that the teenage son of PL was just as hilariously pedantic as we were at that age. It was really great fun to detect familiar inflections in my old friend's voice. We didn't really waste time on catching up on the mundane- just went straight to laughing and teasing.
- Continue to meet with our friends at their weekly wide-open neighborhood barbeque. Everyone is welcome, including buddies that Andy may have in tow that evening. It has transformed our community. They are lovely.
- Watched "Enchanted" this morning, and may watch it again. Very silly.
- The book club never really resolved those pangs of adolescence from last spring. Taking the long view (and hence my term "adolescence"), a group of such long standing is bound to encounter, along with births and deaths, divorces and marriages, regrets and triumphs, occasional but very real disagreements among its members. I am sorry to report that we are all very much adrift right now, with no real plan for next month or the month after. We will see. I have no intention of losing this anchor in my life, but it seems that some of my friends are ready to move on.
- Kids and Peter back to school next week.
My artistic ambitions, parenting challenges, deliberations and developments, and general fascination with myself. *My daughter does have a Dandy Walker malformation. Contact me in the comments if you wish to discuss.

Time to check in again.
I'm just checking in to see if you've checked in.
How can we live vicariously through you if you don't check in more often?
xoxo
Laurie, where are you? We need an update.
