and in other news

  • The book club seems to have survived its earlier growing pains and we had a lovely evening.
  • We agreed, though, that the book The White Tiger is disagreeable. Smelly, is how I would put it.
  • Now we'll be reading a book by Gail Tsukeyama. She's pretty popular with several of the BC members. Doesn't sound like my kind of writing, but you know the beauty of the club is that I'm pushed to try new things.
  • I have again had work accepted into a local gallery for a short, open-entry show. I entered 3 pieces, and I don't know which/how many were accepted. I'll find out Friday.
  • I put prices on two of the pieces, for the first time. This is also the first time that I made some work specifically for a show. It seems at once both craven and like real advancement. To craft something that I am pleased with, but can let go of, is a nice step in productivity.
  • Have been to the doctor for the COMPLETE going over- still need to make an appointment for a mammo- and the dentist, who has kindly invited me back not once but twice within the next month.
  • Andy has had some nice successes recently on the ball field. It seems he's working out some timing issues with his swing. His coaches have let go of the idea of having him pitch, which has taken off a lot of pressure. His fielding has been acceptable. The team overall has been raggedy, both in terms of performance and leadership.
  • The point, however, has been to get him involved with his new high school, and that has happened very successfully.
  • I am having a scramble to pack summer activities in- I have two weeks of classes starting next Monday and then we start back to school the following week.
  • Sigh.

My brain goes ga ga when I try to decide what to comment on in your bulleted lists. I'm excited about your art entry. But if I only said that, would you think I didn't care about your health? Or Andy? Or Rose??? I think I need therapy.

School starts again THAT SOON?

Sigh.
