Childhood Christmas
My best Christmas gift was a complete set of Laura Ingalls Wilder books, in a yellow box. I still have them, of course. They rest on a little cardboard slider inside the case, so that the reader can gently pull the whole set out for ease of sampling. I was SPEECHLESS- I had no idea there was such a thing as boxed sets. The first L.I.W. book I checked out from Mrs. Rerick at the Ute Pass library was On The Banks of Plum Creek. I didn't know what to expect. I just liked the name of the book. Weeks later, I was tearfully returning a very overdue book, which I had KISSED, when I wistfully returned to the shelf from whence it came and discovered !!! a blissful TROVE of books by the same author.

I loved those books as well. Trying to get kids to read them these days is a challenge, though.
Did you know Little House on the Prairie is coming as a musical this year? And Melissa Gilbert is playing Ma? Want to go?
I loved those books as a kid. I also got them for gifts (not in a set) but sad to say only have one left. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
