Childhood Christmas, part 2
The Yule Festival in Green Mountain Falls was an absolute non-negotiable. Skating on the lake. Wassail made with Dr. Pepper and fresh lemons, heated in a big pot over a campfire on the little island. The teenagers hunting the hills for the yule log, and getting crowned King and Queen, wearing purple capes with ermine trim. Hay rides. A puppet show at the Columbine Lodge, and thick peppermint sticks from Santa. The crafts sale at the community building!
