The Purple... um, clowns?

Rose is now on a soccer team. Sorry, I meant to say, "soccer team." Her color is purple. She has a big purple shirt and tall purple socks. Sadly, the socks are about 3 inches in diameter, and it really isn't possible to drag them over her... wait for it... shin guards.

I know ONE of the teams is the Sharks, and one I think is the Storms...? There may be some Explosions. And I know there are orange, blue and green, as well as purple. I just don't know which mascot goes with which color. I think those team names are a little optimistic. In fact, if it were up to me, I might just call her team the Rose-colored Glasses.

Get it?

Because folks, without meaning HER any disrespect, there are a couple of typical kids out there who make Rose look super focused. Big game today, and one little boy reclined in the grass, gazing up at the sky, and didn't even move when the action (a clot of about 36 clomping 6 year old feet) surrounded him. One little boy glared at the bystanders as the action retreated from him down to the opposite end. One little girl- really, she was a pretty athletic kid- dashed back and forth along the sidelines graciously smiling at all the adult fans.

Rose ran pretty much the whole time, with a big smile on her face. She did kick the ball a couple of times, and although the second time I'm pretty sure she kicked it the wrong way, no one seemed to notice. And she is SO PROUD.

So is mama.

Sounds like every kid soccer game I've ever been to.

I LOVE those games--bee hive ball. If laughter is the best medicine, then grade-school soccer could potentially provide the cure for cancer. I'm glad Rose is enjoying it, and that you are too.

I agree with cb--pictures?
