Faster Than A Speeding Bullet

Ah, super heroes. Rose somehow (don't know how; we don't watch television) discovered a series called Avatar: The Last Airbender. She chose a small book from a school book fair- maybe that was her first exposure- and from there, we have become a family with supernatural powers. The library has dvds of the series, as does the movie rental service.

The series does have a lot of charm- cool design, funny lines, good and evil, characters that are evolving. But I'm not here to sell you on more media time.

If you had a super-power, what would it be? Peter decided years ago that he would be Element Man. As it turns out, he was prescient; the avatar can use his powers to control Earth, Air, Water and Fire. Is that ONE power? I don't know.

Let me change the question: if you were a super-hero, what powers would you have, and what would your name be? AND, would you be like Batman, Spiderman and Superman, and keep your powers a sec ret?

I would be Mother Nature. ha! Bet you never thought of that one!!!

I thought of that because I would like to be able to provide wholesome, healing light. And then I realized how therapeutic it is to be outside, enjoying the sights and sounds of flora and fauna. So I thought, well, I'll have some kind of power to draw nature to me.

And then I thought, well, hell, I might as well control the WEATHER, too, because that allows me to indulge my vengeful side.

Just kidding.

I don't know about a superhero, but I have always wanted to be Samantha on Bewitched. I KNOW I'd abuse my power the first time I came up behind someone going slowly in the left lane. Which (witch?) is why it's best that I remain a mere mortal.

I had visions of you as Mother Nature refereeing (is that a word???) Heat Miser and Snow Miser. How pathetic is that?

I read this post last night & thought off-and-on today about what superpower I would have. Nothing. Nada. No imagination here. I like Bewitched's Samantha (thanks, Liz!) or I Dream of Jeanie's...what's her name? But then I realized that if the first superpower I desire involves cleaning my house, I need to get a life!
