Flying High

Kinda busy but feeling like a blog slouch...
One week ago, I impulsively entered a piece of art into an open juried show. It was the little book that I made over after last month's art club. The show opened on Valentine's Day, and the artists' reception was Friday... all week I waited to hear. Not with high hopes, mind you, but still, I wanted to know. I knew that the other artists hadn't gotten official word either, because several of my friends had entered pieces as well. Finally on Thursday, I called them, and found out that my piece was accepted!
Great fun- I was able to go down for the reception, and had dinner with some other gals from my club and a couple of good friends who were able to make it on short notice.

Today, I fly! I'm taking a teachers' workshop, The Science of Flight, with my husband, and today, weather permitting, a local pilots group will take each of us up. We ride in the co-pilot's seat, and once we're airborne, we can take the controls for a while if we want. People ask me if I'm going to do it, and I say, "How could I justify NOT doing it?"

Hope the weather is cooperative.
