Adoption Day!

This is Andy's adoption day! November and December are busy months for us, as Peter and Andy both have birthdays, and Rose and Andy both have adoption days. They would be eventful even without Thanksgiving and Christmas!
We don't have a big party or anything, but we always, always acknowledge adoption day. Usually a small present and maybe a quick trip through the photo albums or something. We have nice pictures of the judge and the courtroom, and the family members who joined us on the big day.
Most adoptive families these days are very open about it. But Grandma Elsie had one little foster son whose adoptive parents lied and told him that the mom was so ill after she gave birth to him that he lived with Grandma for a couple of years and then when the mom, "L" got well, he could come back. Um, setting yourself up for trouble, you think? That little boy will be turning 15 this month, so I guess if the lie is going to bite them, it will be happening right about now.
So. Thanksgiving. It seems more like a celebration if we have guests. We haven't gotten anyone to actually accept an invitation. Sometimes that means we just go out to the Cracker Barrel or something. hmmm. Wanna come over?
