Went into a drive-through hair place- you know the kind I mean- and they said it'd just be a minute. I said, can I still make it to Jazzercise? They said, yea, we'll be finishing you! just in time to get down there. I waited for about 15 minutes and then it was clear I would have to miss the cut to get to class. So I let them know I'd be coming back later, and the gal said she'd keep me on the list.
I left Jazz early so that I could still get the cut and be home for family time, bopped back down the sidewalk to the hair place and when I walked in, no one looked up. I figured, ok, they'll be with me as soon as they can. A kid and his dad came in, and the boy said he had an appointment. The woman told him that she'd be with him soon. Then she sat down at the front desk and made a personal phone call which lasted 15 minutes, at which point I walked out.
OK, and get this, she had brassy bleached hair in one of those ratty perms from the 80s, with dark roots. WHY WAS I WAITING????? sheesh.

Try my theory. When they say 15 minutes (or however many minutes), add 20. That usually gives me a more accurate calculation of the wait time at a hair place. For restaurants, add 15.
